K33, a crypto exchange or a broker?
An on-ramp
K33 is a service that lets you buy bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. You can deposit your preferred fiat currency (NOK, SEK, DKK, EUR, GBP, CHF or USD) and then choose from a range of cryptocurrencies to buy. In that way, K33 works as an on-ramp.
An off-ramp
K33 also lets you sell bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies for fiat currency and safely withdraw the funds directly to your bank account. Without any fees or withdrawal limits, and without the money going via any expensive payment providers. In other words, K33 also works as an off-ramp.
A trading venue
Lastly, on K33, you can easily trade directly between different cryptocurrencies, including stablecoins and fiat currencies. There are currently almost 300 direct trading pairs you can choose from.
A broker, not an exchange
To summarize, K33 gives you full flexibility to buy, sell, and trade cryptocurrencies, just like all the exchanges. K33 is however not an exchange. On an exchange, you buy and sell from other users, not the exchange itself. On K33 on the other hand, you trade directly with the company. K33 is always sitting on the other side of a trade and can therefore secure the best possible price for you. You can confidently fill or kill the offered quote to secure your trade immediately, and benefit from minimal slippage for small and large orders alike.
No trading fees on K33
Since K33 is the counterparty to every trade, we profit from the difference between the selling price and the buying price (the bid-ask spread) directly, just like banks when trading FX. Exchanges on the other hand do not profit from the spread as they are not trading themself. Market makers typically make this revenue, while the exchanges profit from additional fees for trading, and often from withdrawals as well.
As K33 fills both the role of the market maker and the exchange, we can cut out one extra layer of cost and also offer more competitive prices to you. This is why we are able to offer superior pricing to players like both Coinbase and Kraken.
